Jay Wolgin, CPA – Founder of CFO for Hire

Jay Wolgin, CPA is the founder of CFO for Hire and an experienced fractional CFO and financial advisor who has spent nearly three decades helping business owners strengthen financial performance, improve profitability, and make better strategic decisions.

Since beginning his career in 1996, Jay has worked in both public accounting and private industry, developing deep expertise in financial leadership, operational strategy, and business growth. Today he provides fractional CFO services to business owners who need senior-level financial guidance without hiring a full-time Chief Financial Officer.

Professional Background

Jay began his career in public accounting, where he spent eight years working with businesses across a variety of industries. During this time he developed a strong foundation in financial reporting, business operations, and advising business owners on financial performance. Many of the companies Jay works with are looking for clarity on what a fractional CFO actually does and how that role impacts their business decisions.

He later transitioned into private industry, where he spent 16 years serving as Chief Financial Officer for one of the nation’s largest home remodeling companies. In that role, Jay oversaw financial strategy and operational planning for a rapidly growing organization.

Over the course of his career, Jay has developed extensive experience in areas such as:

• Financial strategy and planning
• Sales and marketing analytics
• Construction and home services businesses
• Real estate operations
• Mergers and acquisitions
• Business financing and capital structure
• Profitability improvement and cash flow management

This experience forms the foundation of the fractional CFO advisory services Jay now provides to growing businesses. For a deeper look at how companies benefit from this type of support, seewhy businesses hire a fractional CFO and the value they bring.

Founder of CFO for Hire

Jay founded CFO for Hire to help business owners access experienced financial leadership on a flexible basis.

Many companies reach a stage where financial decisions become increasingly complex, but hiring a full-time CFO may not yet be practical. Through fractional CFO engagements, CFO For Hire helps companies bridge that gap by providing strategic financial guidance, financial analysis, and executive-level leadership.

CFO for Hire works with businesses in roles such as:

• Fractional CFO
• Interim CFO
• VP of Finance
• Financial Advisor
• Strategic Finance Consultant

Each engagement is tailored to the specific needs of the organization, allowing companies to access the financial leadership they need to support continued growth. Many business owners also ask whether bringing in financial leadership is worth it, which is exactly what we break down here.

Approach to Financial Leadership

Jay believes that effective financial leadership goes far beyond traditional accounting.

While accurate financial reporting is essential, the real value of a CFO comes from helping business owners understand their numbers and use them to make better decisions.

CFO For Hire works closely with leadership teams to help them:

• Improve financial visibility
• Strengthen profitability
• Plan for sustainable growth
• Evaluate strategic opportunities
• Make confident, data-driven decisions

Rather than applying one-size-fits-all solutions, Jay tailors every engagement to the specific goals and challenges of each client.
